My Baby is 10!!!

Well, it was a hard weekend for this mother. My first born, turned 10. Can you believe it? Wasn't he just born yesterday? I sure remember that day like it was yesterday. Hmmm, that would make a good blog entry, but too long to tell.
Anyway, he had a good weekend. Mema and Aunt Niecie came down and on Saturday we had just a family party for him along with Grandmother & Papaw. He enjoyed all the attention. Even though he ran from us when we tried to give him his birthday spankings, he was laughing the whole time.
We opted on not having a party for him, other than the family party, and instead I have agreed to go on a family campout. Now for those of you that really know me, that is a BIG deal. I don't like camping. My idea of roughing it when I was growing up was taking the 13" Black and White TV. :) Anyway, don't know when we are going to go. We were going to go this weekend, but just saw on the weather that it's supposed to rain Friday night, so we may have to put it off until next weekend. Anyone want to join us?
To continue on with Patrick's weekend, his piano recital was Sunday afternoon. He was the best there, of course. I'm going to have to talk to his teacher because she had him preforming his piece at about 1/2 the speed that he practices it at home. Not sure why. I'm sitting here trying desperately to remember what he played and I can't come up with it. It was a song from "The Lion King"...............oh, yeah it was "Can You Feel the Love Tonght." He did do a good job though. He kept getting ahead of the accompanment, but like I said it was going to slow.
Well, it's now Monday morning and I have a pile of laundry to get done and unfortunately it won't get done by itself. Good bye to all and to all a good day.

Love ya
Me

I am at genealogy so thought I would kill some time and search.
Thank you for the information on the party and recital.
Way to go Patrick and it has been a short ten years. The sparkley candles were fun. It was a great cookout also. Mema loves you.

Happy b-day, Patrick! Sounds like ya'll had a good time! I remember when he was just a baby and Larr baby sat. He thought it was the coolest thing ever. They really do grow up fast. And have fun on that camping trip! Eat lots of smores and enjoy the peace and quiet! As a mom, I know you probably don't get much of it. ;)
