Okay, let me preface this story just a bit to start off. Our church has 2 Sunday Morning services. We go to the "first hour" as it's called and then teach 1st & 2nd grade Sunday School the "second hour". Well, Sunday morning, our 4-year old preschool choir sang during both services. This just happens to be Jacob's choir. So I sat with my video camera ready to watch the little darlings perform. This was the first time I've gotten to see Jacob sing in "Big Church". They sang Christmas, but I was in the ER with strep throat that morning, so I was really excited. Well, they did GREAT!! He sang his little heart out and behaved.
So I go on up to SS and wishing I could see the performance again, but our other teacher was out, so I was stuck. A friend of mine came in laughing hysterically telling me that Jacob stole the show during the 2nd hour service. Here's what happened. They sang two songs. The first song, he did fine, but near the end of the song, he accidentally turned just enough to catch a glimpse of the big screen out of the corner of his eye. Yes, you can imagine what happened next. During the entire second song, he had turned around and was watching himself on the big screen, waving his arms around, playing with the little girls hair standing next to him and basically just mesmerized by himself on the big screen. The audience was laughing at him, of course, but he was oblivious to it all. Just kept watching himself. The kicker was that when they were finished, our Music Minister made the comment: "That is why we don't put the adult choir on the big screen." Needless to say, I'm very disappointed by not getting to see it.
I'm trying very hard to get a video tape of the performance and maybe be able to put it on the blog, but I don't know if I will or not. :(

Oh, a new blog!!! and what a story. How I wish I had been there. I can just see him in his glowing preformance. Way to go Jacob. Bless you my darling.
Miss, it was best that you see the first, you might have out preformed him in the second trying to get him to turn around. Love you both, Mom/Mema
By the way, where was Tim, Patrick and Elizabeth?
Patrick and Elizabeth were handing out flowers to all the women as they entered church for the first service and then in SS for the 2nd service. Tim was there playing in the orchestra during 2nd service. He wasn't happy about it. I thought it was funny.
Me
But you what? Which performance are yall most likely to remember 10 years from now? Those are the performances memories are made of. I still remember LL's "solo" during a Christmas program, Brian kicking the heck out of a box he was supposed to "accidentally" kick, & Kari tromping around in huge cowboy boots. Your kids performing in church choir, school programs or whatever are just that until they are made into memories. Thanks for the memory, Jacob.
Wow! This sounds HILARIOUS! I hope you're able to get it on video to share it with us...nice one, Jacob!
